  We lay there for a minute taking in the bugs trapped in the light shade before trying out the bathroom, oh dear!.. Dirty bathroom tiles, cobwebs on the ceiling and believe it or not a shower over the bath covered by a shower curtain... Retro or what!

  Yes folks Quest in Mandurah is one to be avoided! I travel a lot for business but for me personally Quest in general are hotels I'll be avoiding in future.

  I looked forward to leaving this feedback personally but the service girl in check out was as incompetent as her predecessor of the night earlier and didn't even bother to ask how we enjoyed our stay.

  If all of that wasn't enough you'll also have furniture that is anything but what was pictured, decor that is not only dated but smelly and to top it all off they'll even leave you the guests before yours rubbish so you can smell your way to the bin...

  As we went to walk the stairs to our room I couldn't help but remark to my partner to watch her step as the lights to the staircase were either flickering or completely dead. So happy were we to have a weekend away from the kids though that we collapsed on to the bed the minute we got upstairs...

  Thankfully my partner had a sense of humour as she was almost in tears as we discovered the "king size bed" was actually two singles that didn't match in height pushed together to form a King. It wasn't until the morning for some reason that we realised that there wasn't even any doona cover, just a sheet folded over the doona which if it hadn't been so funny would have been abysmal.

  From the moment I walked into Quest Mandurah I should have had a suspicion what we were in for, the lady at the counter acted like we were an inconvenience. On reaching our room my fears were realised when the smell was abhorrent, a mix of harsh chemicals and the unmistakeable stench of disappointment hung heavy in the air.
